Can anyone help me with my printer? My printer quit on me last week and I was wondering what could be causing this problem. It isn't out of paper and it isn't out of toner. However, the red ! LED light is staying on all of the time now even after I reinstall the toner cartridge into it and reload paper in it. Does anyone have any idea on what else could be causing this and how to fix it (if it can be fixed)?
My printer is a Dell Laser Printer 1110. Its service tag is <ADMIN NOTE: Service tag removed per privacy policy>. Its express service code is <ADMIN NOTE: Express service code removed per privacy policy>. By this fall, I will have had this printer for 10 years (the same time-frame I have had my current desktop computer). I tried entering both the service tag and service code on the Dell Support website and I always invalid results.
If I have to get a new printer, which I am not objected to doing, can I get a new printer that will still work with my current computer and its operating system? The operating system I have on this computer is Windows XP
